Both are ours to charter, so this is not a sales pitch. Lombok is easier and cheaper to reach; Komodo has the bigger animals.
Choose Lombok for short access from Bali, calmer water and lower cost; choose Komodo for mantas, bigger currents and the dramatic landscape - and note that a Komodo trip needs more nights to be worth the crossing.
