Lombok Diving Package Itinerary

Two routes that work, day by day. Both are a starting point - the crew rebuilds them each morning around the tide, the wind and what your group wants to dive.

A four-night Lombok itinerary covers the North Gilis and the top of Sekotong; seven nights adds the Southwest Gilis properly and, in season, the run south to Belongas Bay for hammerheads.

  • Four nights is the minimum for an overnight charter
  • Boarding at Bangsal or Senggigi
  • Two to three guided dives a day
  • Routes rebuilt daily around the conditions

Route one

Four nights

The North Gilis and the top of Sekotong. Short crossings, sheltered anchorages, and diving every day.

  1. Day 1 · Board

    Land at LOP, transfer to Bangsal, board and run out to Gili Air. Check dive, then sunset at anchor.

  2. Day 2 · North Gilis

    Shark Point and Halik Reef off Trawangan, Meno Wall in the afternoon, the statues on the way back.

  3. Day 3 · South-west

    Run down the coast to Sekotong. Gili Nanggu and Gili Sudak - shallow, clear and almost no current.

  4. Day 4 · Sekotong

    Gili Layar and Gili Asahan, then back toward Lembar for the morning disembarkation.

Four nights gives three full diving days once embarkation and disembarkation are taken out.

Route two

Seven nights

Everything above, plus the Southwest Gilis at a proper pace and the south coast if the season and the group allow it.

  1. Days 1–4 · As above

    The North Gilis and the top of Sekotong, unhurried rather than compressed.

  2. Day 5 · Macro

    Gili Kedis and Gili Rengit. A slow day for pygmy seahorses, frogfish and ghost pipefish.

  3. Day 6 · Belongas

    The run south, weather permitting. The Magnet for hammerheads between June and October. Advanced divers only.

  4. Day 7 · Ashore

    Back north, and a half day on land - Pusuk Pass and the macaques on the road down to Bangsal.

Belongas is conditions-dependent. If the swell is wrong the day becomes Southwest Gilis instead, and nobody pretends otherwise.

On the way

What the routes take in

North Gilis

Trawangan, Meno and Air. Turtles, easy drifts and the underwater statues.

Gili Nanggu

Shallow, white sand, almost no current. The snorkellers' day.

Southwest Gilis

Layar, Asahan, Kedis and Rengit. Quiet reef and serious macro.

Belongas Bay

The Magnet and The Cathedral. Seven-night routes only, and only in season.

Getting on and off

Fly to Lombok International Airport (LOP) at Praya, or cross from Bali by fast boat. The road transfer from the airport is arranged as part of the charter.

Boarding is at Bangsal or Senggigi on the northwest coast, which puts the North Gilis within the first afternoon rather than the second day.

Disembarkation is usually Lembar in the southwest on a four-night route, or back at Bangsal on seven. We confirm which when the route is set.
