The first dive
On site at first light, before anything has come out from the harbour.
Living aboard
Several nights on the water, waking up on the site instead of travelling to it. What that is actually like, hour by hour.
A Lombok liveaboard is a multi-night private charter where you sleep aboard between dive sites - which buys you the first dive of the morning, anchorages day boats cannot reach, and no daily transfer.
Why sleep on the water
A day boat can reach the North Gilis. It cannot reach much else and be back by dark.
On site at first light, before anything has come out from the harbour.
Sekotong, the Southwest Gilis and the south coast only work if you stay out.
No boat back, no road, no hotel. The vessel moves while you eat.
Only possible when you are already on the anchorage at dusk.
A day aboard
Built around the tide, not the clock. This is the usual shape.
Coffee on deck, briefing, first dive before the wind gets up.
Breakfast while the vessel repositions. Surface interval on the sun deck.
Second and sometimes third dive, or a beach if the group would rather.
Anchor down, dinner aboard, and a night dive if the site allows it.
Nothing here is fixed. It is your vessel and the crew rebuilds the day around the group.
Cabin count is the real limit on an overnight charter, not deck space. A phinisi carries five to seven cabins for ten to fourteen guests; a sailing yacht takes up to fourteen with day and overnight cabins.
A fast boat has day-use cabins only. It is the right answer for a day charter and the wrong one for a week.
Pack light and soft-sided. Cabins are comfortable, not cavernous, and there is nowhere to put a hard suitcase.
Tell us your nights and your group and we will match a hull with enough cabins and the right range.
